The ingredients needed to make Homemade Pineapple Jam:
- Take 1 medium pineapple
- Make ready 200 gr sugar
- Get Pinch salt
- Make ready 1 cinnamon stick
This is an easy recipe of pineapple jam which you can also make at home and the good thing about this recipe is that you don't need much ingredient for this jam. Bring boiling-water canner, half full with water, to simmer. Wash jars and screw bands in hot soapy water; rinse with warm water. Pour boiling water over flat lids in saucepan off the heat.
Instructions to make Homemade Pineapple Jam:
- Remove the skin and clean the pineapple, then grate the pineapple (I use a bigger hole as compared to cheese grater)
- With a pan / pot, cook the grated pineapple on medium heat, add pinch of salt and cinnamon stick
- Let the juice simmer, until it's almost dried up
- Then add the sugar and stir it for approximately 15mins. The texture should be thick enough that it won't fall from the spoon when you flip it
- Remove from the stove, let it cool and store it in a jar
- You can have it with bread or as a filling for any tart / cookies
Let stand in hot water until ready to use. Add pineapple, star anise, cinnamon stick and vanilla extract. Remove from heat and let cool before serving or placing into jar. Note: To make the perfect Pineapple Jam, add less sugar if the pineapple is very sweet and more if it is not. Pineapple jam is easy to make at home.
