This custard apple kulfi is a riff on custard apple ice cream made by one of my favourite ice cream brands. If imitation is the best form of flattery, then I plead guilty. My weakness for soft, creamy, and fragrant eggshell-white charms of custard apple ice cream gave me the idea of bringing these flavours to a kulfi.

Custard Kulfis is one of the most popular of recent trending meals on earth. It’s enjoyed by millions daily. It’s easy, it’s quick, it tastes delicious. Custard Kulfis is something which I have loved my whole life. They’re fine and they look fantastic.

To get started with this recipe, we have to prepare a few ingredients. You can have custard kulfis using 4 ingredients and 2 steps. Here is how you cook that.

The ingredients needed to make Custard Kulfis:
  1. Prepare 500 ml full cream milk
  2. Get 5-6 tbsp Condensed milk
  3. Take 2 tbsp Custard powder
  4. Make ready 4-6 tbsp Pistachios

Other typical flavors are pistachio, mango, rose, and cardamom. It is garnished with ground cardamom, saffron, or pistachio nuts. Kulfi is also served with falooda (vermicelli noodles made from starch). Welcome to the world of Kulfi's.

Steps to make Custard Kulfis:
  1. Bring milk to a rolling boil on a high heat at first. Then simmer for the next 5 minutes. Add Condensed milk and Custard powder slurry made with little water. This is important to make it lump-free. And cook for about 5-8 minutes more on a medium-high heat stirring continuously until a desired thickness is attained. And finally, stir in chopped Pistachios before taking it off the heat.
  2. Let it cool down a bit before filling up the Popsicle moulds. Freeze until set preferably overnight and ENJOY! Don't forget to top these lovely Kulfis with some chopped Pistachios.

You can get traditional flavors like Malai, Kesar Pista, Gulkand to the new exotic flavors like Blueberry, Coffee Walnut, Roasted Almond. The taste of kulfi is so different from ice cream! It contains neither eggs nor custard milk. The biggest difference is that ice cream is made lighter by whipping air in it. On the contrary, kulfi is full of cream than air.
