A Prawn Karahi curry is a seafood spin on the more classic and common chicken, lamb or mutton Karahi. Just like its aforementioned counterparts, it's essentially a prawn curry cooked in a deliciously thick tomato, ginger and garlic gravy (masala). The concept of Prawn Karahi is rather new in Pakistan but it's one of the finest dishes. It has a rustic classic blend of spices that pairs deliciously with a chapati or naan.
To begin with this particular recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can have prawn karahi using 14 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you cook that.
The ingredients needed to make Prawn Karahi:
- Prepare Prawns half kg
- Take Garlic 1 tbsp chopped
- Take Ginger 1 tbsp chopped
- Prepare Green chilles 4 slit into halves

- Make ready Oil 1 tbsp+1/4 cup

METHOD: Cook tomatoes, ginger/ garlic, garam masla, red chillies and yogurt in a wok till water dries.then put small drop oil in a frying pan, fry prawns lightly and add in the wok. Steps to make Prawn Karahi:
- Wash and clean prawns now heat 1 tbsp oil add prawns and fry for 2 minutes on medium heat not more than that. Take them out and keep aside
- Now and same wok heat remaining 1/4cup oil add chopped ginger garlic fry then add green chilies fry one min then add red chilli powder, zeera powder, haldi, salt, crushed red chillis add little water and bhunofy.
- Now add chopped tomatoes cover and cook until tomatoes get soft and oil seperates
- Now add prawns and cook 5 to 7 mins on medium heat not more than that otherwise prawns will become rubbery.Add lemon juice and kasuri methi Remove from heat garnish and serve hot with naan
