  4. Whisk until everything is fluffy, add the cream and whisk for few seconds more. Divide the frosting into 3 parts.
  5. Add respective gel colours to 3 parts, pour them into piping bags fitted with nozzles. Pipe flowers onto the cake.

With the cake layers completely cool, fill and frost the cake with the plain white vanilla buttercream, stacking the layers following the ROYGBIV colors. If you want the red layer to be on the top, start with the purple layer, top with frosting, then stack the blue, then green, yellow and finish with the red. Vanilla cake batter colored with pastel pink, yellow and green. Dollop the cake batter while alternating the pastel colors. Swirl the colors and spread the batter evenly.
