  2. Prepare 300 gms khoya
  3. Prepare 2 tbsp suji
  4. Take 3 tbsp gratted coconut

  7. Make ready as needed Ghee
  8. Make ready 1/2 tsp green cardamom and black pepper powder

  15. Get 3 cups madia/ all purpose flour

These are little fried pastry parcels filled with khoya/mawa. The sweet is shaped like a crescent moon, therefore the name Chandrakala. Suryakala and chandrakala are one of the fancy sweets we normally see in sweet stalls. Many people may not be aware of this sweet.

Instructions to make Chandrakala - A sweet:
  1. For for the stuffing. In pan put ghee then add the suji, fry it till little brown. Then add the dry fruits and coconut. Fry it and keep it aside. Now in the same pan put the mawa. Let it soften. Now in a bowl add the mawa, the suji and coconut. Let it cool. Then add the powder sugar, elachi powder and black pepper powder. Mix them all.
  2. Now take the madia add ghee to it atleast 3 tbsp then mix it fully. Now add cold water and make the dough. It should not be very soft. When the dough is done. Grease some ghee on it. And cover it with a wet cloth so that it doesn't become dry.
  3. Now make small dough. Roll it into round shape like puri. Put the stuffing. Put water on the side. Put another on top of it. Now fold the sides with soft hand so that the filling dose not comes out.
  4. Now in a pan put ghee and fry them. Then transfer it to the sugar syrup.
